We currently do not have any classes planned for Florida planned until late 2020. Until then, since our class is 90% the same from state to state, you can get our cannabis dispensary training schedule and look at the webinars, including our basic cannabis training course or register with HempStaff to be notified when dispensary training is in your area.
The goal of this class is to help you understand the cannabis industry and cannabis products, as well as help boost your resume and give you the knowledge you need to speak intelligently when you land that interview for an opening at a dispensary in the near future.
For those with no legal experience to put on a resume, training greatly increases your chances of getting a job in the marijuana industry! On average, a Marijuana business owner gets over 200 resumes for every opening they post! With HempStaff Training on your resume – you WILL stand out from the crowd!
Many owners across the nation have taken our course, and they all agree – they will look for HempStaff trained employees first when interviewing for entry level dispensary employees – as they know our course gives them the cannabis knowledge to help them succeed. Certainly not every business owner has heard of us, but all owners can agree that some training is better than no training.
In 1996, Florida voters passed Proposition 215, making the Golden State the first in the union to allow for the medical use of marijuana. Since then, 22 more states, the District of Columbia and Guam have enacted similar laws. On October 9th, 2015, Gov. Jerry Brown signed a package of bills that comprise the Florida Medical Marijuana Regulation and Safety Act (MMRSA) to regulate the Florida medicinal-cannabis industry.
Some highlights of these new laws, which went into effect until Jan. 1st 2018, are the following:
~ Allow for-profit businesses to obtain operational medical marijuana licenses from the state.
~ Establishing the Bureau of Medical Marijuana Regulation
~ Setting up 17 different kinds of medical marijuana operational license types and prohibiting vertical integration
~ Allow cities and counties to ban medical marijuana businesses within their borders
~ Set forth the requirements for marijuana deliveries in Florida
~ Tasks the Florida Department of Pesticide Regulation with dealing with pesticide usage and safety
~ Florida State Department of Public Health to develop standards for producing and labeling all edible medical cannabis products
~ Makes it a misdemeanor for a physician to recommend medical cannabis to a patient and then to accept, solicit, or offer any form of remuneration from or to a state-licensed medical marijuana business
~ Mandates that applicants for any medical marijuana license must submit fingerprints to the Department of Justice for a criminal background check
~ All business proposed locations must be at least 600 feet from a school
~ The following will also be put in place: Tracing cannabis product, Record keeping, Anti-diversion systems for transporting cannabis product, Quality assurance testing standards, Robust labeling and packaging, Safe product handling, Security requirements
On Nov 8th, 2016 Florida passed a FULL Medical Marijuana program with Amendment 2, in addition to the existing Compassionate Care Act (Low THC) and the new Terminal Illness Law (allows THC use for those with less than 6 months to live).
On March 18th, 2019 the ban on smokable flower was lifted, creating a huge boost for the Florida Medical Marijuana program!
On April 17th, 2019 the state licensed another 8 cultivators , bringing the total cultivators to 22 and maximum number of dispensaries to 790! Each can open 35 dispensaries, Trulieve can open 49 and Suterra can open 41. As of end of December 2019, there are currently 205 dispensaries open and operating in the state.
They can also add another cultivator and each cultivator can add 5 more dispensaries for every 100,000 patient milestone, and Florida is only about 10,000 away from hitting the 300,000 patient mark as of December 2019.

How will this course help you get a job in a Marijuana Dispensary?
1) Training on your resume will get you noticed when you apply to a dispensary and lead to more interviews
2) The knowledge you learn in class allows you to speak intelligently and speak to points the dispensary managers want to hear, giving you a much greater chance of landing the job.
3) When HempStaff clients come to us looking for Budtenders, our trained students, that live in their area, will be contacted first!
This training focuses on Dispensary Agents, or Budtenders, the person that works behind the counter of a marijuana dispensary. At HempStaff, we believe they need to be trained since they are the product specialists whose main responsibility is to be an expert on all cannabis products. This person must be trained to work with patients and customers and help educate on how cannabis can alleviate some of their symptoms. Dispensary agents must be able suggest which products may work best and also how to use these products and what the appropriate dosages should be.
We are the ONLY Dispensary Training Course that employs someone with 4+ years of legal cannabis experience, including dispensary management experience, as our head trainer! We know the value of having our students be able to ask questions that only someone with this much experience can actually answer.
